Brother Ali was pleasantly surprised on the Vancouver stop of his Mourning In America tour with a visit from the one and only Nardwuar. The two chopped it up on camera about Minneapolis music, the MC’s love for Muhammad Ali, and the history of blaxploitation movies.
When Ali returned home from tour, he flipped the the records Nardwuar gave him along with samples of their interview to make a song named after the legendary interviewer.
Pharrell Williams tweeted the song, and it ended up being included on an album by Nardwuar’s punk band The Evaporators. Ali would also like you to know that after the customary “Doot Doodle Doot Doot” ending, he held the pose longer than Nardwuar.
