Live From Istanbul

“Peace, this is yasiin bey. Proud to present to you in this moment, appearing courtesy of The True and Living Almighty Lord. Please give your full attention to the incomparable, the one and only Brother Ali. Enjoy…”

Cinematic late night drone shots of the picturesque metropolis of Istanbul give way to a simply lit Brother Ali perched alone on a rooftop high above the Bosporus, a strait of water marking the meeting place of Europe and Asia. Shimmering lights along the coastline mark the outlines of the Hogia Sofia, The Blue Mosque, and The Sulimanye.

Captured by award-winning documentary film producer Mustafa Davis, Brother Ali gives a stunningly personal hour and a half long performance of his anthemic fan-favorites alongside deep album cuts and freestyles from the then unreleased Brother Minutester project.

The once-in-a-lifetime event marked the end of the hurricane that was 2020 and the hopeful beginning of a new year which found Ali and his family making good on their long time dream of relocating to one of the most dynamic and spiritually alive cities on earth.

As the concert came to a close, director Mustafa Davis found Ali sitting in a moment of emotional reflection and turned the camera back on to ask what he was feeling.

The concert was followed by a sold out VIP Meet & Greet (limited to allow for an intimate online discussion) that lasted over four hours. There was a dope ass shirt designed by Twin Cities veteran artist & producer Booka B too.
